25th July Afterthoughts.
Time and Space dont exist as a matter of definition … That is : i believe we can see and feel and forray into the future, as easily as we forray into the past. Yet, in order to communicate and create together – precison of movement and moment and heart to soul between participants is necessary. Yesterday, we experimented with being able to create a performance with participants spatially located elsewhere. This is one of the fundamental pieces of the MUSE ME project i am working on- to create a performance with multiple participants and performerns, located elsewhere, but coming together on one screen, through a website, for multiple audiences, eating the same dishes, and at the same time.Taking things one at a time, yesterday was an experimentation in timing and spacing, meaning that although there wasn’t a website ( check link muse me ) created for the operation, we used skype. A powerful energy of coordination was needed to steer together music and dance created seperately, yet in unity, making me wonder why we were going through all of this hassle. When we could just take the stage together. Then, this morning, waking up, i remembered why . Because it is possible. Because we need not take so many planes, because we ought to be able to share, from where we are situated ..Communications allows us to be connected from where we are, and i am getting to believe that this is more and more important - that we utilize all venues of connectivity to share.James Abbott : The DressBurak Arikan : The White Box Support Angel
