Gul Kozacioglu was born in Ankara, Turkey, raised in Copenhagen, Denmark.

She studied Philosophy at Bosphorus University, and later Philosophy of Design at METU in Turkey.

Since 2000, she has worked between Istanbul, Copenhagen, Bodrum and New York, within visual and aural media, utilizing photography and poetry in her exhibitions, installations and performances. Her work carries a wish to step above notions of space and time and often utilizes a visually fantastic language even in their dealings of social subjects such as crises, freedom of speech and active participation.

During the 2015-2016 refugee crises, when Turkey played a pivotal point in attempted crossings to Europe, she participated in the initiation of an aid organization helping Syrian refugees in the migration process stranded in Bodrum.

Her recent exhibited work STARDUST is an interactive performance and video installation, a meditation on life and the migration crises.

Coming up is a collective work on Transformation.

Gul Kozacioglu currently lives and works in Istanbul.
