Cabaret Muse Me invites you skating through dimensions, recounting a story of crises and love beyond the clouds, on the 24th of february 2010, looking for fresher ways of being … Sharing … and wether we, you, all are up for it …
Written in the fall of 2008, and developed throughout 2009, cabaret muse is a simulcast performance series of 7 songs.
The second one in the series will be performed at SplatterPool & CPR in NY and DEPO in Istanbul, on the 24th of February, at 12-13 pm, and 19 - 20 pm respectively.
The first in the series was actualized summer 2009, using skype to connect a dance box, musician, and audience together, all in different rooms in the same complex. Yet the connection between the space - musician - audience - dancer was psychic and internet based … where actual physical space/distance ceased to be relevant. In this second performance, we progress to audiences seperated by continents. Yet actual physical distance does not matter, be it a meter, 200 km, 2000km, or 200,000 km ..
Cabaret Muse Me is a process performance with an open doors policy - each consequtive step in it’s building up to a single cabaret performance of 7 songs, aleatory improvised, simulcast over a number of countries, being revealed as we progress.
Crises is examined as personal and communal, economical and ecological, and it’s onset as as an advocation of new beginninngs, ways of being, as old notions are freed from absolute value. Cabaret Muse Me advocates creating and sharing across the world, of endless possibilities, reminding that dimensions of time and space too are simply notions, measures …….
The dance is broadcast from a third location simply to seperate the act of interactivity
Food becomes the interactive element in the performance, eaten simultaneously across settings, inspired by a pragmaticism of wishing to share food over participatory expression, when the crises hit europe and the us last winter. The chemistry of the food is identical on all locations … and it’s effects ?
Cabaret Muse Me is created and performed across countries and settings, with dance, music, audiences all located physically seperated but psychically, visually, auraly & emotionally connected ..
A dance performance actually takes place in an embryonic loci, at CPR, Center for Performance Research, from where it is broadcast via internet to SPLATTERPOOL in NY and DEPO in IST.
A dinner is served, and the audience are the performers ..
Video and Photography of the process of the performances will be documented for a future exhibition in the fall of 2010.
The audiences interact by sharing the same food, and visions and music ..
Two characters counteract *, a 1930’s cabaret charater, the moon versus a surreal contemporary connectivity goddess, the sun, examining society, and sharing !

MUSE ME development thoughts - June 2009
Muse Me - A dance and music performance, participants spatially located across continents, bridged visually, auraly and temporally through an internet platform to audiences in different cities, interacting, whilst sharing food in a model of the fluidty of spiritual, psychic connectedness and conciousness.

We experimented with a demo performance of Muse Me, using Skype
Model of Muse Me
Development Sharing across continents, bridged by live broadcast of a performance created beyond boundaries, Muse Me is a model of cosmic spiritual connectedness and communal conciousness : asking how does one dance, and how is music generated, mused? ..
When dancing, a time forray into the future occurs. The dancer invariably dances to the future, hearing beyond time, what will come next. Will experiment with creating an energy flow beyond spatial boundaries, a collaboration to create, compose, perform and dance. A musical score of a prerecorded beat with fluidity will serve as a guide to a relationship of creating together without heirarchies, parallel and entertwined like dna - A memorial of life and birth.
Timeplan, Techical and Practical Aspects :
April : dance development at Chez Bushwick and Triskellion dance studios
June : performance, music, construction and coreography are being developed
August : develope internet platform to broadcast live performance through 6 channels of video footage and 7 channels of music, whilst dance performance of 7 acts continues in parallel development at Chez Bushwick.
September : begin constructing a dance broadcast zone, an (8×8)m eco designed box with 6 camera´s, to stream video to music studios, and audiences in third locations, with parallel, simultaneous dance and music and their precise broadcasting and installation. Dance is shot from 4 angels, and projected, mixed and realtime, upon 4 walls in installation space, to relay multidimensional presence of live performance to audiences. A central dance motif of turning, represents the world turning, and us with it in cosmos, performed through changing music.
October : freestyle performances & dinners in the public spaces will be broadcast on the web and projected to other cities.
November - January : will precise the techniques of performance, music, dance & technology for broadcasting.
January 25th 2010 : Broadcasts of LIVE Performance
How and Where
Firstly to set up a table for the determinant server of the project. This would serve as a permanent address, for the development of the technological aspects of the project, the creation of a website to stream the performance, whilst performance development continues in studios and spaces across NY. Secondly, set up a dance box, 3m by 3m’s housing for cameras, HDR FX7E or Sony DVM 60 EXM. The construction of the performance box will be of eco friendly materials. The box will be constructed in a number of locations for a collaborative project beyond space and time. The hardware that we will use are 4 stable cameras with tripods, 4 computers that recognize cameras in OS level with internet connection (computers used only for streaming), 5 unibrain FireWire 800 (IEEE 1394b) 10m cables (or similar) (http://www.unibrain.com/Products/p1394/cables_b.htm), aswell as handheld cameras, 1×3 redhead lights and a dedicated macosx server (preferably with 4 gb ram and coreduo2 processor), microphone and loudspeakers. The software we will use to develope the internet platform are tomcat, red5 media server / xuggle, openframeworks, resolume and puredata’
Thirdly, create a mobile performance box, 3 x 3 metres, and utilizing wide angle finger camera’s, for impromptu performances in the public space of cities.

muse me is a celeb-ration project.
Celeb-ration is exhibitons and performances with subjects of communal interest and urgency. And an open doors policy of revealing work whilst in process of development.
About Celebration
Celebration was instigated in 2006 in Tunel, Istanbul, and became a way of communally creating installations and performances. Experimented with notions of private, public and rites of presentation, Celebration has utilized public space, internet and sms technology for interactivity, dissolving boundaries, notions differentiation between artist and audience, and ownership. Celebration Projects have grown organically and it is the role of performance and conceptual artist Gul Kozacioglu to maintain a balance of change and adherence to original concepts as participants and projects grow.
How Celeb-ration works - Method -
a combination of freedom and constraint - through creating open meeting grounds for collaborators to meet and create a community through dinners and events, and once an innovative and free style project has been formed free of restraints, dedicated research and conusltany with specialists, divas and wizards of each discipline to perfect techniques and/or learn applicative methods to realize project.
MUSE ME & Celebration Collaborations / Workshops / Blog / ACT’ivities
as collaborative force that experiments with dissolving the boundaries between audience and artist, and sharing of artwork, Celebration has often worked with methods of public/private dissolving. In this project, we would operate through regular workshops and revealation of process on the web. The outcome of these workshops will be each of the consecutive seven acts/dances/songs of the complete performance, which will be performed in public singularly, as they are developed and broadcast on the internet to allow collaborations between artists. Young Adults and children will be welcomed, and possible workshops arranged in areas of New York under going gentrification, as well as concerts and artist talks, all documented on the blog of the project, and broadcast on the internet site. These workshops and performances will involve the sharing of food with the audiences. Areas I have in mind now are places like Bushwick where a kind of creative gentrification as artists move into family zones is creating hostility.
Proposal is to host process performances of this work through workshops with the local children and share food as part of the performances with the locality, to allow a dialogue to ensue, and aim at eliminating hostility in these zones undergoing a change of inhabitants.
Locations
A location to realize the technological aspects of this project and serve as a technology base, seperate sound studios, a dance studio for practice and a practical construction zone will be used through the process of this project.
Audiences
The performance will be viewed simultaneously whilst in the process of development in surprise public settings in NY, ISTANBUL AND PARIS, on the internet, inside and outside ….
outside dances ..
